Application of Resolution of forces

A force can be resolved into two component forces graphically or with the use of trigonometry. Resolution of forces allows us to analyze causes of motion separately in vertical, mediolateral, and anteroposterior directions.

Application of Axis of rotation

Axis of rotation can be a difficult concept to grasp because it is an imaginary entity. In reference to human anatomy, axis of rotation is an imaginary line that projects through the pivot/rotation point in a joint (for example, the axis of rotation for flexing and extending the arm projects through the elbow joint).

Application of CENTRE OF MASS

Center of mass is a useful reference point for calculations in mechanics that involve masses distributed in space, such as the linear and angular momentum of planetary bodies and rigid body dynamics.

Application of CENTRE OF GRAVITY

The Centre of gravity is a theoretical point in the body where the body's total weight is thought to be concentrated. It is important to know the centre of gravity because it predicts the behaviour of a moving body when acted on by gravity. It is also useful in designing static structures such as buildings and bridges.

Application of EQUILIBRIUM

The equilibrium constant (Kc) can be used to predict the extent of a reaction, i.e. the degree of the disappearance of the reactants. The magnitude of the equilibrium constant gives an idea of the relative amount of the reactants and the products.

Application of plumbline

A plumb line is a piece of string with a weight attached to the end that is used to check that something such as a wall is vertical or that it slopes at the correct angle.
